Love, like any emotion, is an important facet to the human experience. However, with long term marriage, its mostly unimportant. Research has shown that often arranged marriages have a similar, if not higher, rate of happiness between the members of the marriage.

There are a lot of possible explanations to why this might be, but i posit that the reason is Because they’re essentially forced to get together. Humans have, time and time again, shown that they learn to live with situations they cant leave. Now, of course we shouldn’t get rid of divorce, or even refuse to get one and stick with a bad relationship. However, I believe that that level of dedication is what is needed to have a truly happy marriage, not love.
